HIV and Circumcision - You got a chance brotha!
So a new study published by the University of Illinois at Chicago states that young African men that participated in this study reveals that if you lose that extra peice of dangling flesh you are born with you got a good chance not to get HIV. Now a whole slew of thoughts comes to mind. For instance, are they telling these poor kids down in Africa to cut out your little flesh ring and you have a good chance of not getting HIV? Shouldn’t they be promoting, oh I don’t know…. Safe sex? My next line of thought about this study is that they found 2784 uncircumcised men in Kenya to volunteer for this study. How the hell do you lure them into a study like this? Ok kids, we need about 3000 of you sexually active young men to go out and try and get HIV. Oh, and some of you we are going to randomly take a scalpel to your penis and cut off just the tip to see if that increases your odds. I don’t know about you but no matter what the study is, you could not pay me enough to loose any part of my body to justify the study results. Then there’s my next thought… Why did they choose Kenya? What are these doctors saying about Kenya? We need a place with highly sexual active young men who stand a good chance at contracting HIV. It’s not like they threw darts at a map. These guys were specifically selected!
Finally, think about it guys… If I cut into your penis would you go out and have sex? No way! It would proabably burn like hell. I mean I suppose you could push past the pain and thats probably what a few of these individuals who contracted the virus did.
If you ask me, you should probably check those results with every patient contracting HIV. My guess is, the guys they cut into probably didn’t feel much up for sex for a while. But thats just my uneducated guess from an armchair quarterback perspective.
